Tuesday June 24th, 2014 at 7:30 PM: Barbara Bartolome

On Tuesday June 24, 2014, Barbara Bartolome was our guest speaker. Barbara is the founder and leader of IANDS Santa Barbara, a wonderful group of enlightened folks who meet each month to offer support for NDErs and provide education for those of us who have not had an NDE. Her IANDS Santa Barbara meetings are open to all, and you can see her Meetup page here.

When Barbara was 31 years old and a mother of 2 young children, she had surgery scheduled for a discectomy/laminectomy. Prior to the operation the doctors, as a matter of routine, proceeded to administer contrast dye into her cerebrospinal fluid space under flouroscopy to make sure everything was a go for the surgical procedure. The technician, after the dye had just been injected, was supposed to tilt her feet- down to gravity-assist the dye to flow down her spine. Unfortunately instead of feet-down, she was tilted head-down. This caused the dye to flow directly into her brain, at which time she immediately went unconscious and left her body. This is the start of her amazing story of how she experienced the other side.

Barbara is a wonderful speaker and a great person who has an incredible story to tell. Thank you for giving her the warm welcome she deserved!
